Throughout history the wearing of clothing has been a uniquely human characteristic and a defining aspect of every culture in every age.  From the minimal acceptance of loin clothes in earth-based tribal cultures past and present, to the corsets and hoop skirts of the wealthy European Renaissance, clothes have expressed and shaped human experience.  They reflect social status, job position, gender and religion. 

Devi Designs is a part of an emerging culture, both as a reflection and a pioneer.  Akin to the social experiments of the 70s where a woman would “burn her bra” as a statement demanding change within the rigid social structures women felt caught in, Devi Designs is a statement of how many women today are wanting and choosing to live. Combining the principles of comfort, movement, elegance, femininity and fun with the principles of sustainability, Devi Designs clothing meet many of the needs of a conscious modern woman.



At Devi Designs we are creating clothing that is taking into account environmental costs, human costs, clothing fitted for a variety of body shapes, as well as plain fun and fashion.
